This project was created as the final assignment for a course themed “Something from the Void,” which inspired me to design a living galaxy-form creature. The concept developed through hands-on experimentation with Shader Graph, procedural parameters, and color systems, allowing the visual identity to emerge naturally through iteration.
1-4 is a shader graph material
5-7 is created using the Visual Effect graph
The model of the outer ring and the center core is made using Blender nodes
Animation of the center core is made using Blender nodes
A major challenge was creating smooth and responsive animation. Through repeated testing and feedback, I refined my shader structure and bound key visual values to DOTween transitions triggered by player input.
I learned a lot by exploring tutorials and technical resources, then experimenting on top of them to make the work my own. I focused on understanding how things worked and adapting those ideas to fit my goals. Working across procedural modeling, VFX, shaders, and scripting helped me build more control over my visuals and grow more confident in my technical art workflow.
